Jerry Ziemer was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin near Madison and was raised in Milwaukee on the near north side. His family consisted of two loving parents and three siblings: an older brother and sister and a younger sister.

His family moved to the Los Angeles, California area in 1961, and he spent his junior year going to high school in Playa del Rey. He met his wife, Julie, during their senior year after his family returned to Milwaukee. They graduated from Messmer High School together.

​

Jerry and Julie started their sign company, Design Craft Signs, and ran it together for thirty-nine years. They then turned their gorgeous 1914 Craftsman-style bungalow into a Bed & Breakfast called The Lawson House and ran that for seven years. The B&B is currently still in operation in Hales Corners, WI.

​

After retirement, Jerry and Julie moved to the northern tip of Manhattan, New York and lived down the block from their son and his family. They wanted to get to know their grandson, Ben, while he was still young enough to enjoy them.

​

They have three children, Karen, Paul, and Chris, twelve grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. They currently live in a suburb on the south side of Milwaukee in a quaint little condo. Who knows what God’s next plan for them may be?

​

Whatever adventure they embark on next, it will likely prove to be a Twist of Fate.
